We’re excited to officially kick off the Future Force Bay Area Group, a new regional community bringing together mission-driven students, technologists, and leaders from across the Bay Area to use technology for social impact.
Our first Bay Area meeting marks an important milestone for Future Force as we expand beyond Seattle and build a local ecosystem rooted in collaboration, innovation, and action. The group brings together participants from Stanford, UC Berkeley, and Northeastern University, with plans to host future meetings across all three campuses and beyond .
What is Future Force?
Future Force is a volunteer-based, open community focused on empowering passionate changemakers to tackle real-world challenges. Through networking events, Impact Labs, and hands-on collaboration, members gain opportunities to build skills, connect with mentors, and create meaningful tools for social good. Core focus areas include the future of work, future of business, and emerging intersections like health tech and AI for good .
Building the Bay Area Community
The Bay Area group will follow a proven two-phase approach:
Phase 1: Build the Group — hosting engaging networking events, panels with local startups and industry leaders, Impact Labs, and active outreach to new members.
Phase 2: Build the Resources — growing access to mentors, advisors, corporate partners, and funding, which naturally follows a strong community foundation .
A key takeaway from the kickoff meeting was the importance of staying focused, experimenting boldly, and building momentum step by step. This is a community that values diverse leadership styles—whether that means being front and center or working behind the scenes to make things happen .
What’s Next?
Our first official Bay Area meeting will take place next week on the Stanford campus, with options to attend in person or remotely. This hybrid format reflects the geographically diverse nature of the Bay Area and ensures broad access for participants across campuses. Details on the exact date, time, and location will be shared shortly.
As the Bay Area group grows, members will help shape where we meet, how we collaborate, and what impact we pursue. This is your group—your community—to lead, experiment, and build something meaningful together.
We’re excited to see what the Future Force Bay Area Group will accomplish. 🌉🧑💻
